Job Opening – Residential Advisor

The Residential Advisor provides a vital role in supporting individuals who experience disabilities. Residential Advisors perform tasks necessary to ensure a safe, secure, clean, and supportive living environment for clients and a safe working environment for staff. This position is an integral part of the group home management team and requires supervising the operation of the group home. This position requires a unique blend of people skills and willingness to undertake and follow the Bright Horizon Homes Policies and Procedures for group homes of disabled adults.

Residential Advisors are mainly responsible for the daily care of clients assigned to that group home This position involves supporting and assisting individuals who experience various disabilities with daily living skills and community inclusions activities. Residential Advisors provides service to clients so that they can live a full life and achieve their goals. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting and monitoring daily living skills in the group home and providing direct personal care. Residential Advisors work two days on and two days off on a set schedule. Sleep time is included with these hours of 10 pm to 8 am.

Job Requirements
Minimum Age: Must be at least 25 years of age
Education: Attained High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED)
Credentials / licenses / certifications: None
Months of experience: 6
Driver’s license: D-Private Vehicle class
Driver’s license endorsements: None
Additional skills required: None

Pre-hire screening or test performed: Drug Testing/Screening, Background Checks, Reference Checks, Other (specify) Description of screening / test performed: Must have reliable transportation (car, SUV, or Truck). Proof of current Car Insurance; Negative TB test within the last year; and Current First Aid/CPR certificate. Must be able to pass background test. Employee must be able to pass drug testing/screening if deemed necessary. Must have good communication skills both written and oral. National career readiness certificate: None
